About
Hand-raising birds, and writing it down
I'm Gigi. I keep and hand-raise birds in the Greater Atlanta, Georgia area — as a hobby, in my home, not as a business. Everything on this site is first-hand: my birds, my photographs, my notes.
Hand-raising means a chick is fed by hand from a few weeks old, handled every day, and weaned slowly onto solid food. It changes how a bird relates to people for the rest of its life, which is why I write down what actually happens rather than what a listing would say.
What this site is not
- Not a shop. There are no prices anywhere on this site.
- Not a business. There is no address, no storefront and no opening hours.
- Not a catalogue of stock photos. Every photograph is of the actual bird it appears under.
Where are the birds kept?
In the Greater Atlanta, Georgia area. I don't publish a street address, and arrangements are made privately.
What about the other site?
Gigi's Bird Aviary covers the aviary itself and the birds raised out in it. This site is the hand-fed side. Different birds, different writing — same keeper.
